9-YEAR-OLD BOY SHOT IN SCHENECTADY.(CAPITAL REGION)

Police said two people were shot Monday night on Hamilton Hill, one a 9-year-old boy who was an unintended victim.

Lt. Brian Barnes said the youth was coming out of a convenience store at Craig and Emmett streets around 7:15 p.m. when a gunman tripped over him while shooting at another man.

``The boy suffered a single gunshot wound to the leg, and the target of the shooting was hit in the chest, shoulder and leg,'' Barnes said. Police did not release the names of the victims or the possible motive for the shooting.
